Seven months ago, Matthew Beringel joined the Intigris team as a Salesforce Consultant. With a background on the customer side, he brings valuable practical experience and a fresh perspective on optimising Salesforce processes. His journey within the Salesforce ecosystem began in his previous job as an end user, grew into a key user role, and ultimately resulted in a position as Salesforce Administrator. "What started with small adjustments to make my work easier quickly grew into a passion for automation," says Matthew. "I loved the feeling that you could save ten minutes of manual work with the push of a button." After several years of internal Salesforce experience, it was time for the next step: consultancy. "I wanted to be able to focus entirely on Salesforce and everything that comes with it. At Intigris, I can find that focus." He has now been in his new role for over seven months. "The learning curve has gone steeply upwards again, exactly what I was looking for". At Intigris, the work as a consultant is mainly about listening. Not just doing what the customer asks, but asking questions, analysing and advising. "Sometimes a customer thinks something is standard, when in fact it is customised. Or it turns out that something can be done much more easily than expected."
Current Projects and Service Cloud
Matthew has already become familiar with various Salesforce clouds: Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Pardot and Field Service. But his preference currently lies clearly with Service Cloud. "That's what I have the most experience with, I have been involved with so many projects it just feels familiar." His current project, a Service Cloud roll-out at a multinational customs and trade solutions firm, is a big one right off the bat. The European project covers several countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and Sweden. "Every change you make has to be tailored to multiple countries. That makes the work complex, but also very rewarding when it works. Everything has to be set up dynamically."
Looking Forward: AI and Certifications
Matthew has a clear ambition for the coming period: to grow in both knowledge and advisory skills. He has been working closely with his colleague Ronny, from whom he learns a lot. "I'm impressed by how Ronny understands customer needs and translates them into processes." Matthew also wants to delve deeper into Agentforce, the AI functionality within Salesforce. "It's not an official cloud, but it has a lot of potential. I've already worked with it a bit and I really see a future in this technology." Matthew has also set himself the goal of obtaining four to five certificates in his first year at Intigris. "That's not only good for my own development, but also for Intigris. It will enable us to grow in our status as a partner and attract new leads."
Hobbies and Free Time
What many colleagues may not know is that Matthew is half Portuguese. His father was born in a castle near Lisbon. "My godfather and godmother still live within the castle walls. Maybe we should plan a team outing there sometime." Matthew also has an unexpected hobby: sport shooting. "Once every two weeks, I go to the shooting range in Hoofddorp with police and military weapons. I've been doing this for two years now and have already won prizes in the internal competition."
Confidence in the Future
Matthew is confident about the future of Salesforce as a user, consultant and shareholder. "I don't think they've reached their peak. If they continue to invest in innovation such as Agentforce, they can maintain their lead. Soon, large companies will no longer be able to ignore Salesforce."
